Browse our Overdrive collection! With your library card you can download to PC, Mac, and many mobile devices. Titles can be enjoyed immediately or transferred to a variety of devices, including Kindle, iPod, Sony Reader, and many others. Titles will automatically expire at the end of the lending period. There are no late fees!

Borrow up to 5 items. eBooks automatically expire at the end of the 3-week lending period - no returns necessary and you'll never have to worry about overdue fines.

How does it work?

  1. If you're on AndroidiOS, or Windows 10 devices, download the new Libby app (great for beginners to eBooks & eAudiobooks) or the original OverDrive app. If you're on a Kindle Fire, we suggest downloading the original OverDrive app.
  2. Once the app is installed, find our library (Whittier Public Library), then browse our collection, find an eBook, and borrow it using your library card number.
  3. If the book you want is checked out, simply place a hold and you'll get an email when it's ready for borrow.
