Improve your reading, writing, and speaking skills in English with the Adult Literacy Program
at the Whittier Public Library.

The Adult Literacy Program offers:

One-on-one Tutoring: Get paired with a tutor who will help you with reading and writing. Gain the skills to succeed at work, home, and in your community.

Volunteer tutors are essential to the success of our adult literacy efforts. Volunteers can support learners by helping them achieve their goals. Create a lasting impact on the lives of others by becoming an Adult Literacy Program volunteer!

One-on-one Tutoring: Volunteer literacy tutors work one-on-one with adult learners in a library setting. Tutors meet with learners once or twice per week to work on learning goals. Library staff will provide training, support, and all tutoring materials.
